第２１回全日本ロボット相撲の全国大会
力士に見立てたロボットをぶつけ合う第２１回全日本ロボット相撲の全国大会が２０日、東京都墨田区の両国国技館で開かれた。地区大会を勝ち上がった愛好家や工業高校生ら９０組が直径１５４センチの鉄製の土俵上で技術を競った。 大会はソフト会社の主催で毎年開かれている。プログラムで動く自律型と無線で操作する無線操縦型の２部門に分かれ、いずれも本体の重さは３キロまで。 小型だがモーターは強力で、四つに組んだ負荷で煙や火を噴いたり、接触で部品が飛び散ったりするロボットも。審判と参加者はゴーグル姿だ。 相手を正面から押し出すだけでなく、素早く裏に回って送り出すなど多彩な取り組みがあり、勝負がつくたびに客席から拍手が起こった。
