険しい山中に小さな集落が点在する和歌山県那智勝浦町垣内地区。谷間のわずかな空間に合わせ、うねるように茶畑が続く。新茶の摘みとりシーズンを直前に控え、朝日を受けて淡い緑の葉が光り輝いていた。周辺は色川郷とも呼ばれ、平清盛の孫・維盛が隠れ住んだとされる。近畿地方では知る人ぞ知る、色川茶の生産地だ。
