実姉（北九州市在住）が生活保護受給。 北九州市役所に仕送り依頼されるが、舛添要一氏は拒否。 平成４年（1992年）、北九州市の担当職員が「可能な範囲で1万でも2万でもいいから仕送りしてくれ」と頼みに舛添氏の家を訪ねたが追い返された（元市職員談）。 （週刊文春2007年10月4日号）
