Looking for Workers
When chip maker ProMOS Technologies laid off 1,300 workers, it was a shock to Taiwan's high-tech sector. Many of the workers have yet to receive severance, but there may be hope for them. Thirty-seven companies in the Central Taiwan Science Park, where ProMOS is based, are recruiting 3,390 more workers, and many are targeting former ProMOS employees.
